About Us
Our school provides a high-quality learning environment with trained teachers in a unique childcare and school experience for your child.
We are proudly committed to the Montessori principles of multi-age classrooms in a prepared environment, uninterrupted work time, and an integrated curriculum. We believe that Montessori education in all its fullness uniquely prepares children for the world.
Although each CMSAA family is unique, there are some common threads in the families that choose CMSAA. Most of our families include parents with college or post-graduate degrees. Our families care that their children receive a quality education, and are willing to make a commitment to ensure that happens. That commitment often draws parents more deeply into the school community and their dedication may take the form of school community gifts, gifts of time, and, for some families, the commitment of a daily drive. Although many of our families are from the Ann Arbor area, we have families that come from as far as Monroe, Jackson, Chelsea, Northville, Canton and Ypsilanti.
What sets us apart?
- We serve infants, toddlers, preschool and kindergarten students, as well as 1st through 5th grades in Elementary.
- We offer Spanish, Physical Education, Music, Art and Young Children and Worship/Children and Worship enrichment classes, included in tuition, as part of the preschool and elementary learning programs.
- All teaching staff (infant, toddler, preschool, kindergarten through elementary) are Montessori certified for the specific age level they are teaching.
- Our school rates high on learning but low on chaos. Children are engaged in self-directed activities. Self-directed activities provide more structure, freedom, and individualized learning than a traditional daycare or school.
- Our school campus includes 17 acres of wetlands, complete with two ponds.
- We have large nature-based playgrounds with age-appropriate dividers so that the infants are not mixed in with our older students.
- All programs have multiple raised garden beds that are a natural part of students’ outdoor classroom experiences throughout the school year.
- We have secure access to the school building for all parents and visitors to our campus.
Christian Montessori School of Ann Arbor is built on a diverse and vibrant community. From our faculty, to our Board of Directors, to our students’ families, we form a community that reflects the diversity of Ann Arbor. Together faculty, staff, Board, students, and families create a community dedicated to the education and enrichment of our students and to offering each child the opportunity to develop her whole self – mind, body, and spirit.
